At Holdsworth House we are running a clinical study for an investigational nasal spray which is being investigated for the reduction of symptoms of hay fever (allergic rhinitis).
THE INVESTIGATIONAL PRODUCT
The nasal spray is drug-free, and all ingredients of the formulation are well-established and generally recognized as safe.
The spray forms a protective layer (coat) on the surface of the mucosa in the nose (nasal mucosa) and acts as a mechanical barrier against airborne allergens (e.g., pollen) which cause hay fever. It is not absorbed into the body and therefore is not expected to have any effects on the body, other than the local barrier effect in the nose.
Participation in the study may last up to 31 days, and participants will be expected to use (self-administer) investigational treatment or the comparator 1 puff into each nostril 3 times a day for 2 weeks.
Over the study timeline, there will be 3 clinic visits to see the study doctor and at least 2 follow up calls.
Reimbursement for travel will be provided, and all study doctor visits will be free of charge.
