Enhanced Primary Care

Your GP may recommend an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan to best manage your health needs. This will allow you to access eligible allied health and/or specialist services identified by your doctor in the EPC plan, with Medicare rebates. Our current on-site services recognised by the EPC scheme are:

Fees & Medicare Rebates

Appointment fees are based on the length and complexity of patient consultations.

New fee schedule from October 18th.

Service Fee Rebate

Standard $95.00 - $115.00 $39.75
Detailed $180.00 $76.95
Long $215 $113.30

Standard $85.00 $39.75
Detailed $170.00 $76.95
Long $210.00 $113.30

Fees and rebates are subject to change without notice. The fees are at the discretion of the treating doctor. Procedures such as removal of sunspots, ECG, breathing tests, allergy tests etc. carry additional charges, which are also partly covered by Medicare. For more details of our consultation rates, please contact our reception staff.

In order to run the most efficient medical centre for our patients, a small fee from $40 is charged for patients who cancel with less than two hours notice of the appointment time. Missed appointments without cancellation will be charged the consultation rate.
Upon payment, patients with a Medicare card can now claim the eligible rebate via the Medicare Online Claiming System, which the medical centre can process on the patient's behalf. Once patients provide their bank BSB and account number, the system will electronically send the claim request to Medicare, and the rebate will be deposited into the account within approximately 48 hours.
Most pathology tests are covered in their whole cost by Medicare. Patients without a Medicare card are required to pay for the service prior to the test being carried out.
Holdsworth House Medical Practice is an Australian Government Approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, as well as a Registered Travel Clinic. All travel vaccinations and medications are supplied on site by the medical centre for an additional fee. Most private health funds will offer a rebate for vaccinations and medications, depending on the patient's level of insurance cover.
Repeat prescriptions may be issued to patients either during a consultation or following a phone request. Patients requesting a repeat script by phone must allow at least 4 hours for the script to be ready. To cover the doctor's time in reviewing your clinical file, issuing the script and administration costs, there is a nominal charge of $25 for patient's collecting the script in person or $35 for scripts to be faxed and posted to a pharmacy. For patient convenience, payment can be made with a credit card over the phone.
Holdsworth House doctors are able to conduct medical assessments for Workers Compensation claims and life insurance applications. The consultation cost can be billed directly to the patient's insurance provider once an approval claim number is issued. Until then, patients are required to meet all costs themselves. Additional fees apply for writing reports. Major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted (excluding Diners Club).
A referral can be requested by the patient for routine (ongoing) referrals where the doctor thinks an appointment is not necessary. Our practice charges $35.00 fee for a referral outside of a consultation.
Referrals can be received by -
• Computer based (sent electronically direct to the patient or addressee)
• Paper based (patient can collect at the practice or have it posted direct to them)
