Dr Thomas Altree is a consultant physician in sleep disorders. After his specialty training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, he completed a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney. He is trained in all aspects of Sleep Medicine, and consults on patients with complex disorders of sleep, including excessive sleepiness, abnormal movements during sleep, sleep-related breathing disorders, and insomnia.
Tom is an advocate for his peers, advising the Australasian Sleep Association on matters of specialty training, and from 2017 to 2019 was the national Respiratory and Sleep Trainee representative for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He is an investigator in several clinical trials in sleep medicine at the Woolcock Institute, and has received awards from the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, and the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology for excellence in clinical medicine and research.
