During a sexual health check-up you will be asked questions about your sexual history. These are standard questions that your doctor will ask every patient. While many questions are of a personal nature, you need to answer as honestly as you can as the information you provide will enable your Holdsworth House doctor to better support your health needs. Your doctor will respect your confidentiality. There are a limited number of situations where they can be required to report information, for example if they have serious concerns about you or someone else's safety.
Don't feel embarrassed by having a physical examination as they are an important part of a sexual health check-up. Your doctor will do his / her best to make sure you feel comfortable. You may want to consider whether you feel more comfortable undergoing a physical examination by a male or female, and therefore choose your Holdsworth House doctor accordingly.

You can say no to having any of these tests or have them at your next visit. Your Holdsworth House doctor may recommend tests if he/she believes there's a chance you have an STI.
Your doctor at Holdsworth House sexual health clinic can send you regular reminders to help you keep up to date with an STI test routine best suited to you. Reminders can be sent at regular intervals (3, 6 or 12 monthly) according to the number of partners you tell your doctor you are having. This is a confidential service offered to clients of Holdsworth House sexual health clinic and information is not passed on to other reminder services.
