MEDICAL PRACTICE - FEES
Bulk Billing Doctors
We run a private practice but also offer bulk billing
with specified doctors. There is greater flexibility
in appointment scheduling with HHMP private doctors.
When making an appointment please let us know if you
want to see a bulk billing doctor.
Appointment Fees
Appointment fees are based on length and complexity of appointments and are at the discretion of the treating doctor. For Medicare card holders a rebate is available that covers a major part of the cost. Procedures such as removal of sunspots, ECG’s, breathing tests, allergy tests etc will carry additional charges which are also partly refunded by Medicare. Details of our consultation rates are available from reception.
Medicare Rebate
Patients with a Medicare card are charged a fee and
are eligible for a Medicare rebate which the practice
can process for you on your behalf. Rebate cheques are
electronically deposited to your bank accounts by Medicare.
Private Pathology
Patients with a Medicare card will be bulk-billed pathology.
Patients without a Medicare card who require pathology
tests are required to pay for this service.
Travel Vaccinations/ Medications
HHMP is an Australian Government Approved Yellow Fever
Vaccination Centre as well as a Registered Travel Clinic.
All Travel vaccinations or medications are supplied
on site by the practice. They incur an additional fee
– most private health funds, depending on your
level of cover, will offer a rebate for vaccinations
and medications
Repeat prescriptions
Repeat scripts may be issued to patients either during a consultation or following a phone request, depending on what is appropriate. Patients requesting a repeat script by phone must allow at least 4 hours for the script to be ready. There is a nominal charge for preparing repeat scripts this covers Dr’s time in reviewing your patient file, issuing the script and administration costs.
Medical assessments
HHMP doctors are able to conduct medical assessments
for Workers Compensation claims and Life Insurance.
Fees apply for writing reports.
Major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted (excluding
JCB/ Diners Club)
Also, if you see one of HHMP’s complementary health
care specialists, by using the HICAPS system we are
able process your eligible private health fund claims
on the spot, leaving you to pay only the gap.
Cancellation Fee
In order to run the most efficient practice for our
patients a small fee of $20.00 is charged for patients
that do not show for their appointments or who cancel
with less then two hours notice of their appointment
time. This fee is at the discretion of your HHMP doctor.
