Welcome to Holdsworth House Medical Practice located in the Sydney city CBD (Oxford Street, Darlinghurst) and the centre of Byron Bay (Fletcher Street). We are a committed team of doctors and nurses supported by friendly and efficient administrative and reception staff providing health care services for the local community. The general practice care services provided include: treatment for acute and chronic conditions, travel medicine, antenatal and pediatric care, women's / men's health, sexual health, preventative medicine, health education, pap smears and skin checks, ECGs and spirometry with on-site pathology collection. In addition, Holdsworth House Medical Centre offers on site psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry, exercise physiology, dental and natural therapy services (some services restricted to the Sydney practice). Holdsworth House Medical Practice has specialised knowledge of Sydney and Byron Bay health issues and lifestyles and is dedicated to providing quality health care that is sensitive to a wide range of individual needs.

Medical Centre On-Site Nursing

Byron Bay and Sydney Medical Centre has a self-contained practice nursing department so that as a patient, you can spend your time entirely on consultation with your doctor. If you need to have blood drawn as part of your consult, one of our practice nurses will do this once you have completed your consultation. Holdsworth House nursing department can also provide a secluded area for distressed patients who wish to wait for their doctor under the supervision of a nurse.

For your convenience, Darlinghurst X-Ray is located in the same building as Sydney Medical Practice.

Bulk Billing Doctors

Byron Bay and Sydney Medical Centre is a private practice, but some doctors also offer bulk billing. There is greater flexibility in appointment scheduling with Holdsworth House private doctors. When making an appointment please let the reception know if you wish to see a bulk billing doctor.

Rights and Needs of Patients

Holdsworth House Medical Practice recognises your right to:

• Privacy and confidentiality
• Refuse treatment, advice, or a medical procedure
• Transfer care to another doctor or practice. Similarly, the doctor also has the right to discontinue treatment of a patient, and find an alternative doctor if requested
• Be informed in advance about any out-of-pocket costs, or potential out-of-pocket costs, for consultations, treatments, referrals, procedure, or investigations
