The fees are at the discretion of the treating doctor. For Medicare cardholders, the rebate covers the majority of the cost. Procedures such as removal of sunspots, ECG, breathing tests, allergy tests etc. carry additional charges, which are also partly covered by Medicare. For more details of our consultation rates, please contact our reception.

Cancellation Fee

In order to run the most efficient medical centre for our patients, a small fee of $20 is charged for patients who cancel with less than two hours notice of the appointment time. Missed appointments without cancellation will be charged the consultation rate.

Medicare Rebate

Upon payment, patients with a Medicare card can now claim the eligible rebate via the Medicare Online Claiming System, which the medical centre can process on the patient's behalf. Once patients provide their bank BSB and account number, the system will electronically send the claim request to Medicare, and the rebate will be deposited into the account within approximately 48 hours.

Private Pathology

Most pathology tests are covered in their whole cost by Medicare. Patients without a Medicare card are required to pay for the service prior to the test being carried out.

Travel Vaccinations / Medications

Holdsworth House Medical Practice is an Australian Government Approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, as well as a Registered Travel Clinic. All travel vaccinations and medications are supplied on site by the medical centre for an additional fee. Most private health funds will offer a rebate for vaccinations and medications, depending on the patient's level of insurance cover.

Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions may be issued to patients either during a consultation or following a phone request. Patients requesting a repeat script by phone must allow at least 4 hours for the script to be ready. To cover the doctor's time in reviewing your clinical file, issuing the script and administration costs, there is a nominal charge of $20 for patient's collecting the script in person or $30 for scripts to be faxed and posted to a pharmacy. For patient convenience, payment can be made with a credit card over the phone.

Medical assessments

Holdsworth House doctors are able to conduct medical assessments for Workers Compensation claims and life insurance applications. The consultation cost can be billed directly to the patient's insurance provider once an approval claim number is issued. Until then, patients are required to meet all costs themselves. Additional fees apply for writing reports.

Major credit cards and EFTPOS are accepted (excluding Diners Club)
