Medical Centre On-Site Nursing
Both practices at Byron Bay and Darlinghurst locations have self-contained, on-site practice nursing departments so that as a patient, you can spend your consultation time entirely with your doctor. If you require pathology samples to be collected as part of your appointment, one of our practice nurses will do this once you have completed your consultation. Our nursing departments also provide secluded areas for distressed patients who wish to wait for their doctor under the care of a nurse.

For your convenience, Darlinghurst X-Ray is located one level below Holdsworth House Medical Practice in the same building.
Bulk Billing Doctors
Both Byron Bay and Darlinghurst sites of Holdsworth House Medical Practice are private medical clinics, but some of our doctors also offer bulk billing under certain circumstances. There is greater flexibility in appointment scheduling with private billing doctors. When making an appointment, please let the receptionist know if you wish to see a bulk billing doctor. Please note: Our doctors will accommodate bulk billing requests as much as possible; however, bulk billing may not always be available.
Rights and Needs of Patients
Holdsworth House Medical Practice recognises your right to:
- Privacy and confidentiality.
- Refuse treatment, advice, or a medical procedure.
- Transfer care to another doctor or practice. Similarly, doctors also have the right to discontinue treatment of a patient, and find an alternative doctor if requested.
- Be informed in advance about any out-of-pocket costs, or potential out-of-pocket costs, for consultations, treatments, referrals, procedures, or investigations.

- To ensure patients receive timely care and advice appropriate to their individual needs.
- Patient medical records and patient information is confidential.
- Patients will have the opportunity to communicate their health concerns, and receive enough information to make informed decisions with their doctors about their care.
- To focus not only on disease prevention and treatment but on health promotion as well.
- To work with other health professionals and services, where appropriate, to improve the care provided to its patients.

The medical centre at Holdsworth House has established itself as a hub for the highest level healthcare services, providing care for the whole body in our Medical, Allied and Dental suites, as well as housing one of the most comprehensive research units in Sydney.
