HMMP has partnered with the Kenya Aid charitable organization to set up health care and services for a community of 30,000 in the Western part of Kenya. They have much HIV and other illnesses and no medical services. As a community medical practice with expertise in sexual health and clinical research, HHMP will be a major sponsor.
HHMP will pledge financial support, medical expertise and assistance. By pledging HHMP support Kenya Aid will be able to provide essential life saving services, expand the clinic, and also increase the number of services it can offer. Short term goals for the clinic are securing an electricity supply for the clinic; maintaining regular wage payments to the clinic staff; maintaining a regular supply of medication; purchasing of a refrigerator for medication and vaccine storage; providing educational material and public seminars; purchasing essential medical equipment; implementing a free mosquito net program, initially aimed at those most in need (children and pregnant women) and implementing a comprehensive vaccination program according to Kenyan government regulations.
Ask any Holdsworth House staff member for a pledge form or go to www.kenyaaid.org for more information or to donate on line
