Sydney is expecting a flu epidemic this winter.
The 'flu' is a respiratory disease caused by a contagious virus.
The 'flu' can cause some people to become quite unwell.
HHMP is trialling a new drug called 'Peramavir' for the treatment of the flu.
The purpose of this trial is to prove the safety and efficacy of this new treatment.
To be eligible for this trial, you must have flu symptoms for less than 48hours such as:
- cough
- sore throat
- runny nose
- headache
- chills/fever
- aches and fatigue
Study participants will be reimbursed to travel to HHMP for study visits.
(Make sure you see a doctor in the practice within 48hrs of the onset of your flu symptoms)
